Double Helix Mixer

The double helix mixer usually refers to the double helix conical mixer, which is an efficient mixing equipment.

Working principle

Two asymmetric spirals rotate around their own axis while revolving inside the cone under the rotation of the rotating arm. Through the revolution and rotation of the spirals, the materials are repeatedly lifted, generating composite movements such as shearing, convection, and diffusion inside the cone, thereby achieving the purpose of uniform mixing.

Structural composition:

It is mainly composed of a transmission system, an inverted conical cylinder, a screw assembly, a discharge system, etc. The transmission system is driven by a cycloidal pinwheel reducer, and power is distributed through bevel gears. Two symmetrically distributed screws are parallel to the generatrix of the cone, converging at the bottom of the cone, forming an inverted triangular force – bearing structure with the central pull rod. The screws are usually hollow steel pipes, and the helical blades are welded in a right – handed direction. The discharge system adopts a bottom bearing – free design and is equipped with a fan – shaped overlapping discharge valve.

Features:

It features efficient mixing, capable of achieving high uniformity in a short time with a low residual rate. The equipment has a small installed power, low energy consumption, and its operating cost is lower than that of similar equipment. It is friendly to materials sensitive to stratification or fragile materials. The mixing process is gentle, without damaging particles or heat-sensitive components. Moreover, the open structure facilitates cleaning, and the absence of complex bearing design reduces failure points.

Technical parameters:

Taking the SVZX series as an example, its motor power ranges from 1.5kW to 55kW, the rotation speeds are 1.8r/min – 2r/min (revolution) and 57r/min – 108r/min (rotation), the thickness of the barrel is 3mm to 8mm, and the mixing capacity is 30kg to 18000kg.

Application fields:

It is widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, pesticides, dyes, chemicals, plastics, and lithium battery materials. It is suitable for mixing various powders and granular materials with a specific gravity of less than 5g/cm³, a liquid content of less than 20%, and a certain degree of fluidity.
